Windsheild glass with one small chip

Post by motzingg »

I got it from a junkyard earlier this morning, pulled it myself for $60, seemed like a pretty good deal. The next junkyard i went to had a clean one with no chip and i ended up buying that too.

Does anyone want the chipped one for $50?? I could probably ship it greyhound for 50-75 bucks, otherwise its in north carolina for pick up.

let me know, otherwise i'll try to take it back to that yard and trade him for a pair of west coast mirrors i've got my eye on. I have no idea if clean used windshields for these are valuable or not, I.E. my subaru brat windshield is worth like 300 bucks and the one in my escort... maybe 20... you know how it goes.

For you guys who have been around this for awhile is it worth hanging on to this or trying to sell it for $50? The guy at the junkyard wants me to give him another 30 to 'trade up' to the towing mirrors i want.... not sure that its worth it.

maybe i just got hosed on the whole deal...

I'd trade up...used windsheilds are pretty hard to store, or sell. One with a chip is even more fragile, cracks love to start from a chip...
Just my :2cents: :)
