clutch rod grommet

Post by jimmy828 »

I have purchased a new grommet for the clutch rod. It has a metal flange with it but i do not know if the rubber/flange goes on top of carpet or below. When i took the old one out there was no carpet or matt.

It's a seal so under the carpet, straight to the floor. Cut a hole in the carpet, just big enough so the carpet lays flat with the rubber tube sticking up through the carpet.

Thanks Sarge. I thought that was the way it went. I wish there was a grommet or some kind of stitched hole in the carpet to make it look better. I hope there is a cure for that.

If you had a 2nd metal plate you could make a "carpet sandwich" and cut out the carpet inside the oval?
