Rear Axle Oil

Post by Subzero »

Where is the fill cap on the 9 in Ford axle? I have the fluid but I couldn't seem to find the bolt when I looked today. Its probably obvious, I'm just not sure the general area where it is at.
Thanks

Dig through the greasy dirt next to the drive shaft yoke .
You should see a plug
with a 3/8 square in it .
clean it out and use a ratchet and extension.

Early 9 inches had the plug in the back housing so they don't have a plug in front.
