I have a 1969 F100 SWB with a 360 w 3speed that I am swapping out with a c6. I have a couple questions as I have most of what I need purchased already.
Will I need a trans hump installed to accommodate the C6? I read that I might not.
I purchased a 73-79 transmission crossmember and mount, will I need that or will the 3speed crossmember work? My current one is straight across,no drop.
I have tried to figure out if I can use a driveshaft from another vehicle but have had no luck identifying one. Does anyone have suggestions? My current driveshaft is a slip yoke.
I've been all over this site getting pieces of info and these questions are all I have left.
I appreciate all the help or links you can provide.

Re: 3speed manual to c6 questions
I've read where many people say they installed a C6 in a low hump tranny tunnel. It was tight but fit without interference. I believe you can use your x/m, just might need to relocate and drill new holes. I think the tranny mount is the same across all the transmissions, just the location in the frame is different. No help on the driveshaft. but here's a link to the tech page http://www.fordification.com/partnos/driveshafts_02.htm

Re: 3speed manual to c6 questions
Thanks for the info. I am going to remove the front crossmember or remove the engine and trans together to avoid the front crossmember clearance issue.

Re: 3speed manual to c6 questions
I swapped from a 3 speed manual to c6. You can cut out the rivets on the front crossmember and replace with nuts and bolts. Also, I measured to see what length shaft I needed. Then, I went to the junkyard and found one as close as I could to my desired length. I still had to have it shortened some, but it's not too bad of a swap. Also I think you'll have to change from the manual flywheel to the automatic flexplate on your fe.

Re: 3speed manual to c6 questions
I already have everything needed aside from the shortened driveshaft. The guy who gave me the transmission...yes gave it to me..gave me everything, linkage, kickdown rod, flexplate, tranny crossmember and mount. Is there a specific year model truck that I should use or just any with a C6 yoke?

Re: 3speed manual to c6 questions
P.S. Thanks for all the input. I have searched and looked through over 80 discussions in this forum before posting this question. I know it has been discussed many times in this forum but seemingly not my scenario of a SWB.
Again thanks for all the input.

Re: 3speed manual to c6 questions
What I discussed was swapped into a swb. I just used a yoke that I had that would fit the c6. Had the drive shaft shortened and put the slip yoke on.

Re: 3speed manual to c6 questions
Thank you. I am off to get the stuff tomorrow. Found a local shop to cut the driveshaft down.
