pilot bearing
I begin to install my new clutch kit to day and before getting started i checked all the parts and noticed that the new pilot bearing was smaller than the one still in crank. The rest of kit seems to be ok. I test fitted the parts to make sure. The old pilot bearing seems to be ok after inspecting it. I tried the alignment tool and it was a good fit without play. Can i get by without changing the pilot bearing?

Re: pilot bearing
Yes, but why a new clutch and the old bearing. I would put a new one on. Just make sure the clutch kit came with the right one.
May your sails stay full, and your knots not slip. Unless a slip knot.

Re: pilot bearing
The new pilot bushing that came with kit was to way to small'. I figured since the old one was ok, just use it. I know it might bite me in the a** later.

Re: pilot bearing
Seems to me, that the kit from Napa I got(been awhile)came with several different size bearings. IMHO....I would take the old one out and go get the right size...pain in the arse, but even more so later

I might just replace it just to set my mind at ease. At least i can rule that part out if i have problems down the road.67mann wrote: Seems to me, that the kit from Napa I got(been awhile)came with several different size bearings.
