automatic to 3/ 4 speed 1971

i need to replace my trans and torque converter and am curious if anyone has done this swap and if so how big of a b*tch is it should i even try to do the swap ? opinions

Since nobody answered I'll say there is a lot you need to consider. Pedal assembly, clutch linkage, shift linkage, mount, drive shaft, maybe steering column if you want a tree shifter. If you don't have a donor close by with all the stuff, It will be a b*tch.

Haven't done a swap per se but find a donor rig and start pirating parts..... bellhousing, trans, clutch, linkages, pedal assembly, driveshaft, etc.

And why stop at four gears?.... go for five with overdrive !!
