3 speed floor shifter conversion

Post by tsg2009 »

I have a 1970 f100 3speed with overdrive, it is currently column shift and I want to make it floor shift. I already have the hurst indy shifter but looking online at summit says that it won't work. Are there any other ideas or input?

I went through 2 of the cheap Mr. Gasket shifters from Autozone. Don't waste your money. Go with the Hurst Mastershift http://www.hurst-shifters.com/product-c ... astershift You'll have to buy the installation kit too. Probably should call to make sure you get the right one. A bit pricey but the cheap one's won't hold up. I gave up and just rebuilt my column shift.

Thanks! I do not really like the column shift but nothing is wrong with it. I have a hurst shifter hopefully I can still use the shift pack with the installation kit. I tried to fit this one and its bracket but the OD linkage is in the way

Just think of the column shifter as an old school paddle shifter :D Keeps you hands close to the wheel.
