I am swapping from 3 speed to C6 and I received the C6 from a friend who had a spare C-6 from an old FE he had laying around. He gave me torque converter, freshly rebuilt C-6, and flexplate. Problem is the flexplate holes don't mach up to the motor. I can see half the hole on three of them once I get one bolt started. Are there different flexplates for automatics? No I am not using the Flywheel.
I have a 360 FE with an FE C-6. C-6 bolts right up. I also want to know if I will need a different starter? I have searched this forum before posting this and have found nothing useful so far.
Thanks for any input I can get.

Re: Flexplate Help
I believe that u need a different starter. The starter for the C-6 protrudes 3/8" deeper than the starter for the manual trans.

Thanks John. I thought I had heard I needed a different starter. I will try and find out where to get one.

Re: Flexplate Help
It looks like I was supposed to rotate the flexplate to find the position where all the bolts line up. Hopefully that is what is happening here.

Yep, I am officially an idiot. Still don't know where to get c6 bellhousing bolts. Ebay has them listed for an outrageous price of $29.
