Tranny fluid help needed

Post by slapshift68 »

Good evening,

I've got a 1969 f100,3 speed,manual transmission,straight 6.

I've looked thru the forums but can't seem to nail down a definitive answer for tranny fluid or diff fluid. Any help would be great!

Thank you!

75W-90 should suffice.

Thank you BobbyFord!

Would that suffice for the differential as well? Also, synthetic? A particular brand that would be better than others? Lucas or something similar?

Thanks again

I run 90W-140 in my diff.
Some guys do not like the way synthetic oil shifts in the older transmissions. I think it's preference.

BobbyFord Are you going to pull the covers on your differential to drain it?
I have not found the drain hole and was planning on just pulling the cover and clean it out real well while I am there.
Draining the tranny was OK. Filling it was a bit more challenging.
