pic or measurement of trans cover hole

I've tried searching but can't get the right term or something. I know you cut out on the inside of the bolt holes. Put the high hump cover on and use it for a template to drill holes, but once you do that how far do you cut inside for the opening.

IIRC, when I cut mine out I went 1" to inside of the edge of the groove in the floor.

Just measured the factory opening, it is 1/2 " from center of bolt holes to edge of opening, then they used "U" Spring Nuts around the opening to bolt it in.

Thanks guys I was going to cut before I tried setting the cab back on, but I might just pull the shifter and see if it fits without the high cover. Not sure if it is harder to get carpet for low hump or high hump or it doesn't matter. The one advantage of the cover would be easier to change shifters.
