Tailgate handle "molding"

Post by Calfdemon »

When my truck was at the body shop for the past 18 months, they somehow misplaced the metal square that surrounds the handle in the tailgate. They had all of the other tailgate parts, but somehow, that piece escaped them. Anyway, a check of my local junkyards yesterday came up empty as bumpside tailgates are hard to come by there.

Does anyone by chance have an extra tailgate lying around that has that part and does not need it? We recently cut up an extra tailgate to make CNM67's roll pan and I saved all of the innards of that tailgate, but for some reason do not have the handle "molding" with all the other parts, and have no memory of seeing it. So, figure this is the place to find one.

In case anyone does not understand what I am talking about, it is the metal piece below that goes around the handle which has the 4 Phillips head screws in it and possibly anything it attaches to on the inside (I cant remember as it has been quite a while since I disassembled one):

If you have an extra one, please respond with a price and I will get back to you. It is the only piece keeping me from getting my tailgate back together.

PM sent. The molding is actually a housing that the handle swivels on. It has 4 screws on the outside and uses 2 bolts on the inside of the tailgate.
