If you're changing any "hard parts" you'll need to reset all the depth settings and endplay settings, do all your turning torques, etc... If it's just a refresh, like seals and clutch plates, it should be pretty straightforward. I've done both. The tools can be tough to track down. If you're just doing seals and clutch plates be sure to soak the friction plates in gear oil with the friction modifier in it (or add some). I'm partial to 80W-90 GL-5 or GL-5 plus. I've also had luck with CRC's friction modifier additive. Get some on your clothes and be prepared to burn them. Far, far away from the house or human beings in general. Stink doesn't begin to describe this stuff. If you replace any seals be sure to pack the voids behind the seals with chassis lube (same stuff you use on the wheel bearings). Otherwise the garter springs can pop loose. I use Motorcraft XG-1-C. Same stuff the factory used minus the lead additive

My '69 Factory Shop Manual has instructions on repair for the Dana 60. If you don't have one, it's worth the money IMHO.
