what should/could I do about this axle swap?

Hello, I have a 67 250 with a 12v cummins, nv4500, and divorced 205. I still have to factory Dana 44 closed up front and just purchased a 78 250 for $1900 to get the Dana 60 from it. From my research it's almost a direct swap. I'm just second guessing myself because I am kind of falling for this 78 250 and really don't want to chop it up and scrap it because it's a good runner and everything is there. Can I just put the Dana 44 closed under the 78 and roll with that? I'd imagine it would fit if the 78 Dana 60 is nearly a bolt in

You sure the f250 came with the hpd60 in the front? I thought that was a f350 thing? maybe if the truck has the snow fighter package. I dunno man, personally a nice extended cab truck like that id hate to butcher up and start swapping out parts on it. :2cents:

I'm pretty sure. I researched until my eyes bled. I came up with 76+ Dana 44s all came with ball joints. This truck is a 78 with a king pin axle. I haven't gotten a chance to look at the numbers yet. I saw that 78 f250s had the option of the snow fighter package and you could also upgrade the axle without the snow package. I measured the locking hubs to be at or about 4 inches in diameter as said the Dana 60 hubs measure to. My Dana 44 closed knuckle hubs are about 3 inches. There are 4 bolts holding the steering arm over the king pin.
