AODE in my 1967 f100?

Post by Wingnut310 »

Hey everyone!

I have a 67 f100 that I've done the CV swap and the explorer rear on. Now I'm to the point to start the engine/trans mock up. I have a 88 model fuel injected 302 that Im planning on putting in it. The trans I have is an AODE from a 95 explorer that I got the rearend from. I have the explorer at my house so I can rob parts off of it as needed.

My questions are.

What to do about the computer? I'm in NC. Does anyone know of some relatively close to me that can reprogram the computer?

Shifter? Would it be best to put it in the floor or try to modify the original one?

Has anyone on here done this before?

Thanks JR.

I don't have it installed yet but, I have a '90 Mustang GT H.O. 5.0L EFI engine and a '98 3.8L Mustang 4R70W that will be taking the place of my stock 240 and C-4.

I have a Ford EEC-IV A9P processor that will control the engine and a Baumann stand-alone transmission shift controller for the 4R70W. (Baumann Optishift, now called "U.S. Shift, Quick 1" controller).

The 4R70W was developed from the AODE and the earlier AOD. I don't know if you're dead set on the AODE but, a '98-later 4R70W is a much better transmision than the other two.
