Easier way to window installing?

I'm afraid I already know the answer, but is there an easier way to slipping new windows into the doors of my truck or do I have to take out the wing windows and window channels?

i haven't taken my wings out when i replaced my passenger glass. and i've had to do it twice. you just have to wiggle and jiggle and get the right tilt on it. it is a pain but i've done it without breaking the glass so it can't be that hard for anyone else. just take your time and use patience. if you need some more patience i don't know where to buy it. so you'll have to use your old patience

The window glass itself has to be removed to get the vent window out anyway. Shouldn't need to remove the window channel weatherstripping as long as it's just the glass you need out, it'll come out. If you go to remove the vent window, then you'll need to remove the channel gasket.

Has anyone found a 1 piece window replacement kit? I saw where Stacy on "Trucks" did this with a piece of crap Chevy, and did away with the vent window. I kinda liked the idea but haven't seen anything about a kit like that for our trucks.

It's been my experience that you cannot remove the glass without first removing the fuzzies, so that the metal window regulator channel across the bottom of the glass will clear.

Here's how I remove door glass:

1) Remove armrests, window-crank/door release handles and doorpanel
2) Remove window regulator
3) Remove window fuzzies
4) Remove vent window attaching screws. Be sure to hold the glass when removing the last screw, as the vent window assy. also serves as the front window channel. When you remove the last screw, the channel can then be slid forward off the glass by tilting the vent window assy. and the glass will drop out. Set it gently into the bottom of the door.
5) Slide vent window assy. to rear of door and lift out.
6) Lift glass out the top

The last time I was at the shop I disassembled a couple doors for my project, and took a lot of pictures. I'm using them to create a tutorial. I'm ALMOST done with it too, so it'll be posted here shortly.

I just replaced my door seals, vent window seals and all of the window channel stuff on my 68 and I took a lot of photos. As you are putting the tutorial together, Keith, holler if there is a particular view you are missing and I might have it.

Anyhow, for anyone doing this job I want to post a caveat. The access hole to the door is large and makes getting to the internals relatively easy but it is SHARP. In order to avoid the lacerations that I endured, wrap the edges. When I finally figured out that all the blood splatter was my own, I wrapped mine in masking tape as the attached photo demonstrates.
