I continue my quest for a proper C4 for my 71. The one I have now has shift levers designed for a floor shift. Yes, I can use an adapter, but would prefer to use a transmission that has the proper shift levers so I can use reverse switch, etc.
I have ran across one tranny that came out of a 70s falcon. Were those cars all column shift or did they make floor shift models as well? I think granadas are another possible source as well.

Re: Falcons, Granada's as transmission sources
Not sure about that particular transmission but I believe most of the car shift linkage configuration (at least the C4s in Mustangs), at the transmission, was the opposite of ours. Our shifts from the bottom side of the lever, car trannys shift from the top side, or vice versa. Here's a thread detailing another member's findings. http://www.fordification.com/forum/view ... hp?t=62739

Wow, just read through that while I should be working. Nice fab work on that shift lever.
I have found another c4 (in a town I don't like, Waco).
Waiting for some more pictures on this one.
