Rear axle seals
Anyone have a link or know where to find a rear axle seal and bearing kit for my 67?

Having read and researched a lot of the confusion about these seals, and not getting that warm fuzzy with the parts stores, I contacted Currie Enterprises, they repro 9" rears. IIRC, this is the one I bought. However, you should contact them on your particular application. http://www.currieenterprises.com/cestor ... px?id=1454 I got a complete bearing kit including the 9" differential bearings and my local parts store, it did not include axle seals.

This is what I have found, I am currently replacing both seals and bearings as well..... Any company you order from will need to know which rear end you have, meaning is it 3300LB, or 3600/3750LB rear end. Maybe the bearing size differs between the different axle splines these trucks came with. Each of the weight classifications use a different bearing and seal. Take your measurements for the outside and inside diameter of your old bearings, same with your seal. Curries, summit, jegs have done pretty well for me when asking techy questions. If you give them those numbers they should be able to give you the right bearing and seal.

All '67-'72 F100s with a 9-inch rear end will have 28-spline 3300# axles. Their axle bearings will measure 3-9/64" O.D. x 1-17/32" I.D.
The only '68-'72 Ford F100s to come with 31-spline 3300# or the 31-spline 3600# axles were in the Ford 9-3/8" rear ends (very close cousin to the Ford 9-inch rear end but, still not the same as a 9-inch).
The 31-spline axles in the '68-'72 F100 9-3/8" rear ends came in two different axle ratings and with two different axle bearing I.D.s. If the 9-3/8" rear end came with an open (single track) differential, the 31-spline axles were rated for 3300# and the axle bearings measured 3-9/64" O.D. x 1-1/17" I.D. (same as Bumpside 28-spline axles in a 9-inch rear end).
If the '68-'72 F100 9-3/8" rear end has a Traction-Lok differential, the rear end would have 3600# axles with axle bearings that measure 3-9/64" O.D. x 1-5/8" I.D.
I have a pair of 9-3/8" 3300# 31-spline axles from a '71 F100 in the 9-inch rear end under my '69 F100. They use the same axle bearings and the same axle seals as what was on my 28-spline axles.

'73-'79 F100 and '75-'79 F150 Dentside owners with a 9-inch rear end in their truck have it much easier than us Bumpside F100 owners with a 9-inch rear end, when it comes to 31-spline axles and the ability to run a 3rd member with a 31-spline Traction-Lok differential.
All Bumpside 9-inch rear ends only came with 28-spline axles and mostly with 28-spline open (single track) differentials. Very few Bumpsides came with a 28-spline Traction-Lok differential.
Most Dentside F100/F150 trucks came with 31-spline axles and a good number of them had 31-spline Traction-Lok differentials. A smaller number of Dentsides did have 28-spline 9-inch rear ends.
Unfortunately for Bumpside owners, you can't take the 31-spline axles from a Dentside 9-inch housing and swap them over into a Bumpside 9-inch housing. A Dentside 9-inch rear end is 4" wider than a Bumpside 9-inch rear end. --naturally, their axles are too long.
Fortunately, there was the '68-'72 F100 with the optional 9-3/8" rear end and its 31-spline axles are the right length for a '68-'72 F100 9-inch rear end. The down side is there were much fewer 9-3/8" rear ends than the 9-inch and the 9-3/8" 31-spline axles can be VERY difficult to locate.
IF you do find the 9-3/8" 31-spline axles though, it makes it very easy to install a 31-spline Traction-Lok 9-inch 3rd member, from a Dentside or Bullnose truck, into your Bumpside 9-inch rear end housing. (ALL Bullnose trucks ('80-'86) with a 9-inch rear had 31-spline axles --but, not all had Traction-Loks).
My stock '69 F100 28-spline axle still installed in the rear end housing (pictured below). '71 F100 9-3/8" 3300# 31-spline axle to the right. Notice the 28-spline axle has (3) divots on the face of the center register as well as two circular grooves cast into the face of the register. Notice the 31-spline axle has the (3) divots but doesn't have the two circular grooves --the face of the 31-spline axle register is smooth.
The casting on the center register of the 3300# 28-spline axle reads, C8TW-D. The 3300# 31-spline axle is cast with C8TW-E.
My stock '69 F100, 9-inch, single track, 3.50 geared, C7AW-E casting (single vertical rib) 3rd member on the left. Ford Daytona D0OW-B casting, N-case, 9-inch, 31-spline, 3.50 geared, 4-pinion Traction-Lok differential on the right --it came from a '75 F150 4x4.

If you see a 3rd member in a '68-'72 F100, like the one below, it's a 9-3/8" rear end and it will have the 31-spline axles that will fit a '68-'72 F100 9-inch rear end housing. Notice the two widely spaced vertical ribs but, the main identifier is the top horizontal rib that curves downward on the left side.
This unit is from a Ford passenger car, as denoted by the 'hood' sticking out over the driving pinion flange. A 9-3/8" truck 3rd member will not have this hood but other than that feature, the truck 3rd member will physically look the same.
