Manual transmission vent tube?

As you can see the NV4500 I put in the truck has a vent tube and I don't know what to do with it. Does it have to be plugged in the air intake like the pcv valve or do I just deadhead it on the firewall somewhere unobtrusively?

It doesn't need to be 3 feet long. Most trans vents are just the fitting in the top of the case only.

Ditto. I'd just one hole strap it to the firewall somewhere out of the way.
