Hello I have a 68 with a 5.0 H.O. from a mustang with a AOD and I am wanting to go with a 5 speed. My question is should I go with the T5 with the S 10 tail shaft or the M5R2 ? Will the gearing of the M5R2 hurt my performance ? Would the T5's gearing be any better ? I have a 3.54 Dana locking rear axle.

Avoid the T5 on a full size truck. The better choice is the M5. But the best choice is a Tremec TKO.
