3.03 swap nv4500 info

Can anyone tell me if I will need to modify my driveshaft and if I will need to switch to electronics speedometer if anyone could give me the rundown I would greatly appreciate I'm thinking of doing the swap I just want to get all the info and if anyone's done it what's their opinion if it's worth it

Electronic speedometer depends on if you can find an earlier Dodge version, they were the only one that were gear driven. Though I think I read somewhere that the later version could be converted, take this with a grain of salt since I can't immediately think of where I saw it. You can use the second GMC version as long as you change the input shaft to Dodge. The first GMC version can't be used with our trucks at all as far as I know. If you're planning to use the inframe aux tank you can't use the Dodge version, it's too long. Here's a shot of the GMC version in my truck with the aux tank.

And yes, you'll have to shorten your drive shaft which ever version you use. Please be sure to post pics of your project you never know what might help the next guy.
