F-250 driveshaft carrier bearing.

Post by Ren »

Just replaced the u joints and carrier bearing thingy on my '67 F 250. I strongly suspect they were original. Things went smooth. Except the carrier bearing. This was the first time I have ever fooled with a carrier bearing. I had to cut the bearing in half nearly through and into the race with a die grinder in order to remove it from the shaft. It also required profanity. Was this normal or was I just stupid and unlucky?

Absolutely normal. Carrier bearings, u-joints and wiper blades can always be a pain in the posterior. :cuss:
