Hey guys, I have a 67 f250 4x4 I'm swapping an 84 460 into. Is there a factory bellhousing that will bolt to the np435 and work with off the shelf clutch and flywheel assembly? I already have the engine mounts figured out, but all I can find for a bellhousing clutch and flywheel assembly is $$$$$ swap stuff from l&l. All their stuff looks like nice quality stuff, but I'm trying to do it as cheap as possible. I'm kind of a newb when it comes to Ford swap stuff so any info would be great!
Thanks,
Chris

need to look for a dent side truck ( 73-79 ) with a 4 speed and 460 combo, should be what you need.

I believe the bell housing you will want is from a 351M/400. I have a 429 in my 71 Highboy and that's what was used and I still have the original NP 435 in it. I get what your saying on the L&L stuff but it is nice quality. You will also need a rear sump pan for the swap too.

Thanks for the replies, I'll keep an eye out for dent side trucks next trip to the wrecking yard.

There are two, one has a hump to clear 12" clutch, the other won't.

Re: Bellhousing for 460 swap
I have a couple of 400 bell housing and clutch forks. Was wondering are the FE frame perches different than the 460 conversion ones from L&L.
I'm also looking for a rear sump oil pan and pick up if you happen to have one for an fe. We're converting back to an fe from a 460 so I'm in need of frame perches if I can't use the ones in the truck now. Thanks

Re: Bellhousing for 460 swap
351M/400 bell housing will bolt on a 429/460, It's the same bolt pattern. But I think different depths
From what I have heard the 429/460 bell housing is a 1/2' taller than the 351/400 bell housing. You'll want to check the depth to be sure because if it's true then the pilot shaft be pushing the crankshaft forward and that will eat the thrust bearing up and you'll have to rebuild the motor.
The bell housing difference was posted a while back by a guy named "Hawkrod", The guy new his stuff when it came to the differences in ford parts and was very trusted with his information.
