97 rear end in 77
I've found a 3:55 disc posi in a local bone yard. Will it bolt into my 77 or will I have to move the spring pads??

So I got to move the spring pads? I've done that on rear ends before.

What kind of rearend?
I would think a '97 axle width will be different, and the lugs will be metric.

97 was the first year for metric bolt pattern in F150's. Perhaps you could just swap the axles for the non metrics?
