Can you advise on a lift and wheel size?

Hi everyone, I am looking to get a Ford F100 1970 for a classic truck project.
I really love the sinister look of these trucks and want to emphasize it with a lift and beefy tires.
Here is the end result that I am looking for:

Can anyone tell what is the wheel size and lift on this particular truck?

That is a dent (73-77 for the round headlights) not a bump (67-72)

I will let the 4x4 guys take it from there though...

Welcome to the site.

For a practical daily driver I wouldn't go bigger than a 4 inch lift and 33 inch tires maybe 35-36 if they weren't too wide.
Personally I like around a 2 inch leveling spring up front and 31 inch tires, but I am getting a" little" older.

If the truck you get doesn't have disc brakes '76-'79 F150 will bolt in, get the '78-9 steering components
Then get the poly bushings
If you go with a big lift you'll need a drop Pitman arm and tracking bracket.

Another thing you can do is get a '76-'79 chassis and put your body on it.
You'll get power steering , disc brakes and a two speed transfer case.
But you'll have to deal with a 2 inch longer wheelbase.

If you are going for the look in the pic, that looks to be a 4 inch and 33's if I had to guess.

Thanks a lot guys! I didn't get the truck yet, still consider weather it's worth the try. It's been repainted and in overall good condition, but I really want to make it look beefee and trying to do calculation on what will it cost me.

I think 10's will be ok,maybe with a good offset would help get em away from frame in very deep turn.

I used to have a 72 f100 4x4 that I put a 4 inch rough country lift on. It was pretty straight forward. Took an evening to do the front then I did the back the next morning by myself. The springs were kind of a pain to get in the front lined up right. Here's before and after.


It looked really dorky with stock tires and a lift. Looked like the axles were hanging way below the bumpers. I put some 32 inch tires on it and it sat right about the same height as a f250 4x4 maybe an inch higher. Not sure if a f100 2wd would sit different than a f100 4wd but I'm sure it would be close.

I think the lift was like 375$. It did change the feel of the truck, it kinda floated like a boat and steering was a little more loose. I think stronger shocks would have made it feel less "floaty" and soft. I do have a pic of this truck next to my 250 highboy in my build thread first page and you can see they are very close to same height.

I wouldn't go any higher than 4 inches. The lift changes angles of steering and it's harder on the front end components. I ended up changing the tie rods and steering connector rod. I was up over a few hundred in new front end parts after installing the lift.

With a 4" suspension lift kit, you should be able to fit 35's easily. A 6" lift is not too bad though you might need longer brake hoses and driveshafts.
