It appears to be shifting fine, I will check the modulator valve.

That's not a 1969 truck C6 transmission, the drive shaft end, rear seal, etc. are very different than used on the truck C6 (see the discussion and parts diagram on this thread; http://fordification.com/forum/viewtopi ... =4&t=84029 ).
My bet is that when 302 from the Torino was swapped in the passenger car transmission came with it.
You can identify the transmission by the letters on the id plate and looking them up in the passenger car chart posted here: http://fordification.com/tech/transapps_65-72cars.htm . It doesn't appear that the 302 V8 came mated to a C6 transmission from the factory.
Also don't be allarmed if the transmission id plate is on the opposite side of the transmission as that shown in the diagram.
This important to know when ordering parts.
