Re: My work space
Whatever gets the job done! I have a 2 car garage (no door) but my wife only allows me 1/2 of it. Not enough room but for my truck on my half. All my parts/tools are in the basement (crawlspace) and I have to lug everything up and back from around there.

Re: My work space
I have a 27'x10' garage with a workshop below my apartment - but it's so full of "stuff" that I can't get in without climbing over things. I built shelves everywhere I could put them, and I've begun moving things out in the past few weeks (our local thrift store is loving me), but it's going to take a while to get it cleared out. Although I couldn't fit my bump in there even with the camper box finally removed, at least I'll have a covered space to build the stake bed once I downsize. It's big enough for some of my other projects too - I got my kid a '68 Baja Bug as a graduation present, and it's a driver but needs a lot of fabrication, welding, and ultimately a paint job to get it looking good.
Actually, I should be down there now...

Jacksdad. U should take ur truck to the dump or have yard sales. Thats a big garage! Wish i had something like that. Sweet project too. Get on that bug!
Heres more of my mess and tools. Lots of.cleaning and work to do if im gonna attempt paint here.
Mess from truck work. Im terrible about putting things away.
One of the best things my dad has ever gotten me.
Had to get some beefeyer jack stands and jack for my truck.

Re: My work space
Actually, that's lots of work space! I do all of my work in the driveway or street. Makes it interesting to deal with any fluid when the wind is blowing! And in August, when it's 120 degrees out, my workspace is 120 degrees!

Re: My work space
Actually, you're one up on me, 1guydude - you can move around in your garage.
When we moved in, the garage was painted brown (?) and had one light bulb. It was completely empty except for a "bench" made of 2x6 boards nailed to the wall. I painted the walls and ceiling white, put up some florescent light fittings, made a real bench, and built masses of shelves that get everything off the floor and against the walls (cheap plywood, screws and 2x4s make for some awesome shelves dirt cheap). I even hung some shelves from a ceiling beam. It's the biggest work space I've ever had, and it even has 110v and 220v outlets. Shame I can't get in there to work on anything
And this whale isn't exactly helping the situation either

Re: My work space
Anyone ever make there own paint booth? Thinking some painters plastic and 2x4s for structure will give me a lil add on to the inside garage painters plastic LOL.
too ghetto?
plan on upgrading my air compressor and getting a gun on CL maybe. Well most of my tools come from CL or pawn shops.

Re: My work space
I have a couple of things that need painting, and I was thinking along the same lines - a wooden frame and plastic sheeting. I was toying with the idea of adding some venting as well, with filters to try and avoid the backlash from the immediate neighbors getting stoned on the fumes (ah - the joys of living in suburbia...)

Re: My work space
I built a paint booth for small parts in my basement workshop (page 3) https://m.fordification.com/forum/viewt ... 9&start=15. I also improvised a shelter to paint the bottom of my cab in the garage http://www.fordification.com/forum/view ... &start=270. That turned into a lot of work so after that I said to heck with it and just sprayed in the open garage or driveway and let the chips fall where they may! I'll get around to re-doing the inside of the garage eventually
