Shift rod from Column to transmission

Post by Charlie67f100 »

I need some help with disconnecting the shift rod rod that goes to my column to my automatic trans. The trucks a 67 f100 with a c6 auto and a 390 swaped in. How do i remove that rod from the column I need to remove the trans to replace the flexplate. Any help with this would be great guys

If it has the plastic bushing you just have to pry the rod out of it.
Spray a little lube on it.
sometimes they come out hard.

No any gear , just make sure it doesn't roll while you're under there.
