Flywheel Dowel Pins

Post by Lolarry01 »

My 72 F-100 Custom, with a 302/manual 3 speed is getting a new clutch. I had the flywheel turned and now that I'm putting it all back together I've noticed that the flywheel does not have any dowel pins. I can't remember if it had dowel pins in it before I took it in to NAPA and I didn't get any before pics to see. I've got the flywheel clutch and pressure plate installed. Do I need to back up and install some pins, or does it matter? (I'm not planning on hauling heavy loads or doing any burnouts, just for light duty driving, to get me to work truck)

I don't recall having any dowel pins on mine when I had it resurfaced either.

My local auto shop (he owns a bump) said no dowel pins required.
