Hi Folks-
Been working on a 67 SWB for a little bit. Bought a parts truck - 67 F100 Ranger 2wd -352-auto- and a Dana 60(?) Is this right? I'm kinda new at Fords. Don't know the ins and outs yet. The SWB (Custom Cab) has a 9" and I thought that was standard in the 2wd 100's. Is the 9" or the Dana the better trans? Guess I'm at a loss. Any knowledge would be appreciated.
Thanks ahead-

Does this help any? Sorry; I'm not a half-ton guy, but this lists rear axles.

Yes, those danas were an option. I parted out a '67 F100 with a 352 4spd and dana 60 a few years ago. They are pretty scarce.

Thanks for the replys. Here's where it gets weird. Sunday I'm out installing ex. manifolds and exhaust and some glittery bits off of the parts truck and I read the axle codes on the door tag. They have the same 17 code?!? Here's the Miss Marple on that---- as far as I can deduce---- (Has there been a MURDER!?)
The parts truck has a flimsy, no-logo tailgate. The paint has been changed from a dark green to a lighter green with funky, disco-looking stripe motif! Elementary- there has been mayhem in it's life! Perhaps the rear diff has been changed and it started out with a 9".(?) Everything is clean and dry under the drums (once I heated them up mercilessly with the Blue Wrench!) Tells me that it's been serviced at one time. The frame looks good, though. Who knows really? Lots of stuff can happen in 50 years but the same code is a stumper. Gurus feel free to chime in and taunt me mercilessly if it's called for, that's how hardheaded folks learn, huh?
Thanks again!

Did it have matching avocado-green shag carpeting, and a Donna Summer tape in the 8-track?the elder rocker wrote:The paint has been changed from a dark green to a lighter green with funky, disco-looking stripe motif!

If you're saying that your parts truck and your swb show the same axle code on the door tags, maybe you might want to see if the parts truck door tag serial number actually matches the number stamped into the top of the RH frame rail approximately 10" behind the rad. Maybe the cab or door is off another truck. Does the truck, perchance, have the buck tag stapled to the cowl above the master cylinder?
