“New” truck - 1971 Ranger XLT

SWB Boxwood Green.
302 Automatic
Pretty solid truck. Been in North GA it’s entire life. I have the original title and bill of sale with it. It was sold new at Caudell Ford in Cleveland, GA.

Supposed to have 4x,xxx original miles but I’m not 100% convinced of that. It was painted once in its life. My guess in the late 80’s or early 90’s. Needs some work but it will be fun. Paint has held up fair. I’ll buff/polish it and drive it for a while before I repaint.

One end of a cab support has rusted out but I see those are readily available. Engine runs super. No smoke at any time. Trans shifts a little rough. I’m going to change the fluid and filter and replace the modulator valve and see if that helps.

Got to replace the steering coupler first and get it to drive a little better. Between my dad and I think this is the 5th bump side we’ve owned. And 4 dent sides. Among other F150’s.

I cannot find any 1971 door panels but 1970 seem to be readily available. I'm not sure the 1970 green will match though. I can convert the interior to black. I have a new black dash pad on it now and new black armrests. Should I leave it green or convert to black?

Welcome! And, since you asked about green or black interior color I'll post a photo of mine as it is green AND black. Maybe it'll help with your decision.

Nice truck. I like the green and black. The dash pad has been replaced on mine. Originally green but the new one is black. I have new black arm rests. I’ll probably convert mine over slowly to black. The painted surfaces will stay boxwood green and the soft surfaces black like yours.
