NOS Motorcraft locking gas cap on eBay.....

Found these on eBay and according to my 1968 Autolite catalog these are correct for our bumps.......seems like a good price.....

Someone better buy this!
I had so...many issues with finding the correct venting locking gas cap for my truck!
Countless times coming out to find the cap had failed to do it's job and pressure had built up spewing out of the gas cap onto the fresh paint on the cab!

I have bought two of them yesterday - one for the regular, one for the auxiliary gas tank...

Feels better if they are locked when you have your truck parked some hours anywhere...

Or if you live next to a rental property who has had occupants in the past that think your bump is a gas station........unfortunately speaking from experience.......and I run 90 octane no ethanol gas that is $3.79 a gallon - about $1.35 more than regular 87 octane........the main reason I bought one.......

Since it says vented that should mean that it fits 70 and older ones only.

I always had issues with my 71' model with the "burping" onto the side of the truck. And the filler neck did not look like the newer dent style that had a vent tube incorporated into it.
I remember there being a lot of discussion on this here in the past and BobbyFord I believe found there were two different style fillers like you're hinting at here? Probably room for a lot...more discussion on this topic as many guys are going to the Coyote engine and fuel injection systems, (requiring different style caps altogether).

Anyone have images of the two different filler neck styles, (pre 70' versus 71'/72' differences)?
