1971 F250 Camper Special Sport Custom
Does anybody have access to step by step removal instructions for the wiper motor?
I dove into the dash and have managed to get down to the last nut on holding the arm assembly to the motor. I removed the nut and the arm is still attached... Ugh. Is there some sort of pin holding it to the motor?
Please help. Rain is coming.
Thanks in advance!

Been a while. Trip the 17531 clip with a small screwdriver and it should come out. One of the worst jobs on the truck.

I'm sorry to resurrect a dead thread, but I need help. Thanks to Ranchero50's post, I was able to remove my old wiper motor, but now I'm having trouble reconnecting that 17531 clip. How exactly does it attach? I remember when I was prying it off, that it seemed to swivel, but I can't figure out exactly how it was attached to hold the arms together.

It's just a spring clip that slides into the groove on the end of the shaft. It'll pivot 360* so it's a pain to get off and on. The prongs on the clip spread as you push it on till it hits the center opening and then it stops. You have to try to push it on till it "clicks". If you can get in there with some needle nose pliers, you put one point on the end of the shaft and the other point on the top of the clip. Then try to squeeze it down on there without it rotating.

Thanks! Now, my clip is different, as the two prongs on the one in the picture, fold underneath the clip on mine; is that bottom part supposed to go onto anything (like one of the arms), or should I still simply slide the entire thing onto the shaft? I'm guessing the latter.

My apologies for resurrecting this thread but for anyone about to tackle this job, consider this: if you have to have your dash pad off for whatever reason, assess your wiper motor at the same time as then would be the time to swap it out. Point being, with the dash pad off and the wiper bracket loose, you can look down through the left vent hole directly at the linkage clip that had caused me easily an hour of frustration at that point. Within seconds, I was able to get the clip off.
