Intermittent horn issues

Well, after all that, testing wires and stuff... it turns out that the horn brush in the steering wheel was getting pushed down and sticking. I replaced it with a new one I had and.... nothing. Completely dead. I polished the old one with some steel wool and put it back. Works.
Can I put some dielectric grease on it to keep it from sticking in the hole in the steering wheel?

I hate it when the new part is the problem, and that seems to happen a lot, these days. congrats. on the victory! I am an advocate of dielectric grease, I would also use it in the plugs, and on the horn button contacts

Have you tried adjusting the horns? There’s a screw on the horn itself. Try turning a quarter turn in one direction then test horn. You may have to go the other way as well. Just keep track of how many turns. I had the same problem and this fixed it completely.
