Hi all,
I have a 70 250 with a manual steering box that looks like this:
Any idea what I should be putting in it for lubrication?
Thanks!

Re: Manual Steering Box Lube
Service manual says to fill with SAE-90 EP engine oil, believe it or not.

Well, that's convenient. Thanks for the info!
BTW, what manual is that? Think I should probably have one

Looks like the Ford Factory manual. My set is 5 volumes.FloridaFordGuy wrote: ↑Wed Feb 01, 2023 6:24 pm Well, that's convenient. Thanks for the info!

Recommend you use grease with the grease gun. Fill it up full.
The 90 wt. can leak past the seals.

Like Lee said, it's the '72 Ford shop manual. It's a reprint, not an original set. I forget where it's from but I believe you should still be able to get a hard copy from somewhere online, somewhere around $100 or so, perhaps a bit less. Or you can get digital copies for much less, but I like having the paper copies on the garage bookshelfFloridaFordGuy wrote: ↑Wed Feb 01, 2023 6:24 pm Well, that's convenient. Thanks for the info!
