I just went out and flipped mine. The gasket fits the curve on the cab fine. Difference is the light bezel is titled down not vertical like it was original. It looks like it can go on either way.

Not trying to intentionally create an argument here or say one way or the other won't work. But if you were lighting up the cargo area at night wouldn't you actually want the cargo light pointed slightly downward to better illuminate the work area at night?

It should be real easy to figure out what is right.
The center hole in the rear of the cab is offset to one side.
The light should also be offset on the back where the bulb socket is.
The offsets should match up when the light is installed correctly.
Make sense?

Looking at the 4th post, it was mounted on an angled surface on the T Bird, and the lens was cut so as to focus the light rearward. My gut tells me it was turned 180 on the truck so the light shines into the box.
Also, this was a '68 option, not available in '67. I believe it was also used on dents until mid '77? Different base though.
