I need to raise the overall height by about 3/4”.
The offset is on point.

3/4” too short. I’ll cut the circumference and add 22 gauge sheet metal to adjust the height.

I sectioned the air cleaner base to add 3/4” in overall height. The scoop sticks all the way out of the hood now.

Thank you.
I got the trim ring done yesterday. Matches the truck hood contour now.

I guess I’m not going to use this blue hood. I had another in the shed. I made a template off of the blue hood but still took 45 minutes to measure and re-measure.

Nice work and looking good.

Dumb question - would the hood have closed on the shaker scoop prior to mods?

Thanks, Robert
I'm not exactly sure what you're asking. Are you asking if the hood would've closed before I added the 3/4"?

I have this crazy idea of putting one on but being under the hood so I was asking if you just put the shaker on the engine would the hood close normally.

I thought I saw some pictures where you had a bar across the engine compartment but can’t find them.

No, it definitely wouldn't fit. Another thing, I looked online and the scoop kit that I bought is no longer available. They make one with a fiberglass flapper plate and a fiberglass scoop. The scoop I have is alloy and the flapper plate that I chopped up is metal. I bought mine in 2016 and the part number on the box is C9ZZ-9600-D

My problem is that my 63 is completely torn apart and I'm trying to work on two trucks at once...
