Help with Steering Linkage after 76 F250 Front end Swap

Post by F1Kiesel »

Hey sorry, I am a bit new to all of this and I am working on my first project truck. I have a 1965 F250 2WD truck that I wanted to flip from drum brakes to disc brakes. Everything I read said to get parts from a donor for the swap, so got the front end out of a 1976 F250 and did the swap. That part all went well, and I swapped the Radius arms, I-beams, spindles, etc. I went to buy the steering controls (Tie rods, drag link, etc) and found some confusing information and parts that don't seem to work.

I ordered the parts from LMC for the truck and they are not correct and I can't seem to find the correct parts. https://www.lmctruck.com/steering/steer ... drive_f250

If you look at the diagram, you can see the tie rod end mounted up from the bottom of the spindle arm with the nut on top. From what can tell, mine needs to go from the top down with the nut on the bottom.

I have found videos and photos of trucks with this setup, but cant seem to find the correct parts. It is possible that the guy I got the doner parts from told me the wrong year, but I don't think so. When I did the calipers, I looked up the part numbers for it matched what came off a 76. I am not sure if it matters but I did get the front end with dual piston calipers.

Any hep with be great.
