New custom dash panels (similar to F600)

I'm going to be making one nearly identical but will be re-using/cutting/painting the factory plastic gauge assembly and adding either an aluminum or sheet metal surface too it to mount the Autometer gauges.

It's a pretty simple project and will cost less than $10 bucks for the metal and a can of paint.

Is that a newer front clip on a 72 cab? It just looks add in that pic!

On a side note, I would be interested in seeing your dash mod, and may be interested in buying it if you are selling them!

It's the stock '72 front clip but I removed all the trim and between the fading colors and rust it doesn't quite look right.

Just ordered the guages, Autometer Phantom.

I allready had the tranny temp, electronic speedo & pedestal tach of the same series so I just had to pick up the mechanical/electronic adapter for the speedo and the other gauges I didn't allready have.

here's the parts (Summitracing)

ATM-5780 Electronic Tach
ATM-5887 0-120mph Speedo (similar but not the exact model I have)
ATM-5757 Transmission Temperature, 100-250 Degrees F
ATM-2234 Angle Rings
ATM-5291 Speedometer sender (converts the mechanical cable to an electronic signal)
ATM-5715 Fuel Level, Empty/Full, 73 Ohms/8-12 Ohms
ATM-5721 Oil Pressure, 0-100 psi.
ATM-5737 Water Temperature, 100-250 Degrees F
ATM-5791 Voltmeter, 8-18 Volts

I also started to lay out the 1/8" aluminum dash plate.

Sounds like my project. Im using an old metal gauge set and tig welding the backing plate after i cut holes for autometer "American Platinum" gauges.

What years/models came with a metal panel?

They seem to have had either but it seems the 67-69 are more likely to be the metal ones.

I would love to put some custom gauges like Autometers in my truck. They cost SOOO MUCH.... not including fab time for a panel, or the price of a custom panel. Also seems to me like the sensors for the gauges would suckto install, too.

The cost is about 300 dollars total. The speedometer can be used with an OEM Ford electric hall-effect sensor, and autometer has a gas gauge in any style that is compatable with our sending units. Ill keep updating as my gauge project progresses.
