I looked through Keith's two pages on identifing the differances and know of one he does not have. My 67 doors use the same catch mechanism for both sides. One of them is simply turned up-side-down. On my 70 doors, there is a distinct left and right catch(the thing in the door that cathes the strike post). The 67 doors, again, only have two lefts. Im not sure if this is a 67-69 thing. Ill try to post pics this weekend.

re: Another 67-72 differance found (door latch)
Are you serious? I don't think I've ever noticed that before. I'll be headed to the shop this evening after work to pick up some parts to get shipped, and I'll have to bring the camera to document that. My two '67 doors are leaning against the wall still completely assembled, so they'd be good candidates.
Good eye!.....and thanks for the heads up.
Just out of curiosity, how did you notice that? Were you reassembling some doors and trying to figure out which latch went into each side?

re: Another 67-72 differance found (door latch)
Hummm...I looked on my 68, and they seem to be two different parts, if I'm understanding you right. IE: On mine, both sides have two bolts/screw on the bottom. Only one on the tops. So if it were the same part, seems to me, the bolt pattern would have to reverse. So I think on the 68, they were two different parts. MK

I looked at my 67. The bolt pattern does reverse. Two bolts on the top drivers side. Two bolts on bottom passenger side. Don't know if it's common knowledge, but the window regulator from a 69 will bolt right into a 67. I know that for sure.

I had my 67 doors and 70 doors all leaning up against each other. I was trying to convert my 70 doors to 67 stlye. I counldnt figure out why the 67 latch was back wards?!? Finally, I looked at the doors. Ah-ha!

I took this shot yesterday in the shop, so everyone can get the visual. I'll be adding this to the ID page soon:

That was probably done as a cost cutting measure.
Why tool up to make two different parts when the same part will work two ways?
Corporate America.....
