Seat Score

Post by Whoaaanelly »

Hey All,

I was at the local Pull a Part today and scored a very clean stock bench seat for my 67 (from a '72) for $21.50. Hopefully it's a direct swap. Got great door seals and sill plated for $6.00 and a pristine e-brake pedal for 10.00 and stock bottle jack and handle for .49! . Major haul of parts for $50 plus tax. Was a great deal anyway 'til I realized I left my $70 Leatherman in one of the trucks. By the time I realized and went back it was gone!!! :( Oh what a way to ruin a great junk yard crawl. Anyway, I wanted to offer a cool seat option I saw when I was digging around. There was a late 70's LTD Crown Victoria there with dual power seats (50/50 style) that would make a great swap into these trucks. I was going to go back and pull them when I realized I was $70 down. May still... considering they only want $16.50 for 'em. :)

Where is this pull-a-part? I think I need to start hanging out there!

Been so long since I went to a wrecking yard, because they all wanted your first born for anything, especially in the Seattle area. $50.00 for a damn dipstick and tube off a truck (Al's Truck Parts in north Lynnwood for example) is too damn rediculous. Many other examples I could quote, too.

Guess I just didn't know where all the good places were. :(

Sounds like a fun time...for the most part. ;) Don't worry, the seat will work fine. All '67-'72 bench seats are the same, just different upholstery for various trim levels.

Paul, just to make you drool a little, here is a copy of the price list from the local U-Pull-It:

$30.00 for an aluminum manifold. Last time I saw a factory 4V aluminum manifold on a car, they wanted $175.00.

For an Edelbrock Performer.

There's supposed to be a good pick-n-pull of sorts not too far from here, down in Olympia. Got to find out where that is and start going down there occaisonally.

Well, They are getting fewer and farther between even here. There's a few left. There's one further south I'd like to go into someday http://www.allamericanclassics.com/ and just browse. Someone really could make a living buying parts from this Pull a Part place and immediately selling them on e-bay. :$$:
