re: 67 ignition switch
There is not a Ground wire to the ignition switch... No ground wire...
The wire to the coil can not be spliced in with any of the accessory wires, as it is only supposed to have power on it in the Run position (motor running). The accessories will have power in both the run position and the accessory position..
If you leave the key on in an old vehicle that has "Point type distributor" it could burn the points or even this coil power wire if the points are closed when the motor is not running... That is why the ignition switch has a special position / terminal for just the coil power wire so that when you have the key in the accessory position that the coil wire doesn't have power on it...
On that switch diagram I gave, the wires will be this.
#16 wire will be the "ignition switch coil wire".
#32 wire will be the "ignition switch start wire".
#297 wire will be the "ignition switch on wire"
#21 wire will be the "Power wire"

I'm not "Brand Loyal" Ford-Chevy-Dodge-Toyota I have them all, one even cross mixed...
If it Looks good and Works good then it's ok by me. Everything has its issues from time to time...

re: 67 ignition switch
Ok, I see what you have written, but here is what I have so far. There is one more terminal on my switch than in your picture.

Is the ???????? terminal for a ground, or does the + coil wire go there or the ign swch on go there?????

re: 67 ignition switch
Not sure what that ?????? terminal is for... It might be a Proof out terminal not sure... See last part of this post "option" to try to find out...
On this switch you have are there marking by the terminals? such as (A), (B), (C), (I), (S) or (P) or something?
On these wires from your aftermarket harness you are hooking to it "acc, start, coil, hot wire, and on "
I'm not sure what the function of the "on" wire is for on this aftermarket wire harness, but I would probably put it and the "acc" wires to the same terminal (center stud) and then wire the rest as I listed before...
(EDIT) I removed the modified picture see next post for switch diagrams..
Look to see if it has any marks on the terminals, this is what marks should be for what.
A=Acc
B=Battery
C or I=Coil
S=Starter
P=Proof
Here is another option to figure this switch out if you don't have an ohm meter using a test light.
Take a short piece of wire and put a terminal on one end that will fit onto the battery terminal on the switch and connect it to the positive post on a battery.
Then take and using a test light with it connected to the battery ground, put the key in the switch and turn it to the ACC position and see which terminal(s) have power on them. (should only be the center stud has power)
Then turn it to the RUN position and see which terminal(s) have power on them. (the center stud and the coil terminals should have power on them)
Then turn and hold it to START and see which one has power on it only when it is in this position. (the coil wire and acc wire may also be on too)
If you find one of the terminals (that ????? maybe) that never has any power on it then it could be a ground.
Wish I was better help, but I'm about out of options here...
sorry...

re: 67 ignition switch
I did a little last ditch looking today and went to the Painless Wiring site and looked at the online manuals they have. For their wire kit for the 67-77 for truck I found their ignition switch diagram. Go to page 37 of the manual here http://www.painlessperformance.com/Manu ... Manual.pdf They don't show anything connected to that outside terminal... I found the same result with the 67-68 mustang page 16 here http://www.painlessperformance.com/Manu ... Manual.pdf
I found one other mention in my searches that the outside terminal was used for the "Brake Warning Light" but the info was not that great and I seem to have lost it in my searches...
Anyway maybe the painless wiring manual will give you some incite to the one you are using...
