I was thinking of doing the same thing BUT the guy on this site talked me out of it and the body man did to.
I don't have money for a dash pad right now so ill have to wate tell I can get one. So for a wile I wont have one but I do have a cover for the dash so I can just lay that thing up on the dash for now.
It really looks better with a dash pad. The covers for the defrosters I was going chrome them and put them on.

i was looking at the pad i removed to save the grill vents and i didnt know the back bolts were made onto a strip of metal. so are some of the front bolts on the passenger side. i was really unaware they were put togther like that. i thought these dash pads had a total metal inner under the foam. i guess i was wrong.
