ok you need to find wire number 44 it is blue. it comes out of the flasher plug and goes to the turn signal wiring plug and then up into the turn signal switch. and wire number 297 which is black with a green strip. which turns into wire number 8 black i think it goes into the wiper switch and that wire is tied into wire number 950 which is the heater switch. i think this looks right the 950 wire color isnt shown might be black also. my 67 wiring was all messed up alos. ths diagram didnt help me very much either. the cluster i have in the pic has different colors to it. but the wiring is the same. it came froma 69 with dummy lights instead of guages. wires 383 and 385 are for the emergency flasher. wire 284 is red and goes to the fuse from wire 383. this is the page i am looking at. http://www.fordification.com/images/sch ... ghts02.jpg

Ok going by that diagram i believe the only flasher i have found is the emergency flasher. i wish i didn't have to keep removing and replacing my cluster. :)
i'm likely to break something else.

No, there should be one for your turn signals and one for the emergency flasher. At least all of the Fords I have worked on so far are like this.

(edit) I thought there were two in my '68 when I had me cluster out, but I wasn't looking... ...I was too busy running the wires for the '80 - '86 digital clock.
Too many projects, too little time, but.. lovin' it!

do you have any way possible to post a decent pic of what you are looking at? unless someone ahs really altered your wiring you have two flasher units stock from the factory.

i think i may just have to look for loose wires. i have looked on back of cluster but it isn't there. the wiring in the diagram i referenced seems to match the one to the right of my column support.

:pop: I looking forwards to the picture also... as Fordman said above from the 67 diagram look for the "Blue and also the Black - Grn stripe" wires... The one thing I'm wondering about is the color for the "Black - Grn stripe" wire, I wonder if it is actually a "Orange - Yellow stripe" wire... I have found mistakes on these wire diagrams before :hs:

These will be on the instrument panel as the wires go through the wire connector for it...

Yep l1k2gadd,

You are right on this.
I just went through that with my '68 CS... there are two separate flasher units on our trucks.
I was having problems with my flashers and replaced one but not the other flasher unit I still had problems.
When I replaced the second flasher unit, the problems went away.

I know this is an old one but Im having the same problems as you 4th effie n counting with my 67 f-100. the only flasher i have found was a square one attached to a bracket that was behind the cluster no the back of the cluster and no other orange wire but the one for the gas gauge. The only thing i could think of is i have no E-switch at all i have the plug up the switch is MIA.
