mine is the 72 Ranger XLT From all the chrome and the side marker lamps in the rear. Just wished they hadthe ones up front on the side instead of the cornerish ones they have
And would you look at that the three middle years are liked the least so far.

re: 67- 72 truck, which year is the best?
I voted for the 1969. I like them the best...mainly because I was born that year...but I love the grill of the 69.
I learned to drive in my Dad's 1968 F100...my first vehicle that I ever owned was a 1970 F100, and I have owned 2 1969 F100's since.
My 1st 1969 was awesome...and I truly regret ever getting rid of it. My last one, the one in my gallery is truly my version of the "Perfect" truck...it's a 1969, a SWB, 4 speed transmission and 4WD.
However, I'd take them all if I could get them...and I plan on saving as many as I can when I get back to the states.

Just thought I would see if this poll is complete?
Anymore voters?
With all the newbies, there has to be more to this.

rwejkes...sorry it took me so long to respond. I enjoy the Army. It is a regimented, disciplined society...but that is not a bad thing. I have been in almost 18 years and will go for a few more. I have a required physical fitness program (must be mentally and physically capable of handling the rigors of combat, anytime, anywhere) and they fix me up when I'm broke and I have never paid a DR or Dentist bill. Of course that will all change when I retire.
Truckcrazy...I still love the 69 best, but will take any of them, then put a 69 grill on it.

Add me the 67 list. I like mine for the fact that it was built before the government started to mandate safer features. I like the no light look on the side of the bed and no reflectors. Just looks cleaner IMHO.

Good Lord, we were just talking about those Ernest advertisements yesterday. A building supply center in Anchorage used him back in the 80s, didn't help, they still went under. Does Jim Varney still do those?flyboy2610 wrote:I voted for '68 cause that's what I have, but my real opinion is that the best truck ever is the one that the member owns.

re: 67- 72 truck, which year is the best?
I've Got to vote for the 68's. Of course I like them all but mine is the best truck in the world. Sure it has a lot of problems, but its still mine so its the best. One of the problems is it has a 69 302. I don't like 302's. I wish the 300 6 was still in it, but that ain't my fault. Previous owners go figure. Anyways I'm going to overhaul my motor. I started at 7:05 this morning with a running truck at 1:00 I had it ready to pull. So when Dad gets home we'll go to my uncles and get a chain hoist, and hopefully get it pulled tomorrow. The good thing is there ain't a lot of weight since I stripped everything I could off of it. So wish me luck. Hopefully I'll finally get it to stop smoking and run better.

re: 67- 72 truck, which year is the best?
Come on now, only 40 votes cast. We aren't finished with this yet, are we? BTW, the reason for the 67's popularity is because they have a feel all their own and the 68-72's have a more refined feel to them. I think that 68 is when trucks began the metamorphose into what the new trucks are today. Only I still prefer the old ones. All of my 67's had that same old truck feeling with the new truck look and my 68-72's had the "new" feeling along with the new look about them. I think that is the draw to the 68-72 trucks. ![Very Happy :D](./images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif)
