Hey RobRoy...

No worries...
It really serves no purpose.
Even with the nub removed, you can still use the '72 wheel if you wanna go back.
You do wanna use the nut to protect the threads.
I didn't and had to clean my threads up with a small jewelers file to get the nut back on. Even at that it was worth it
This is the wheel I used. I was gonna use the stock one, but it stuck out so far, my belly got in the way...

It's a Grant 832 from Summit Racing
14.75 inch diameter (the same as the 80's Ford sport wheel), but it has only has a 3 inch dish which moves it a little further away from the driver.
I have a really nice horn button with the old style V8 logo embossed on it in black.
I am waiting until I get the rest of the cab done before installing it so it doesn't get messed up before I'm done with the interior.

Kaptn - That looks good. I am thinking of going with the Grant 1180, that's still pretty far down the road though.

Hey Kaptnkaos! Thanks for the great post and photo!

That steering wheel looks really nice and classic! I'll be sure to leave the nut on if I decide to grind the nub off to protect the threads; thanks for warning me about this.

Thanks again,

Thanks Mick,

Yeah, I wanted that clean classic look...
I may paint the chrome flat black...
It reflects alot more than I thought it would, and I have been blinded a couple of times driving down the road.
That usually isn't a problem here in the NW... especially, this summer...
The interior is going to be flat baby blue with black and white with some red highlights.
