Finally got around to fixing the horn wiring in the cab, and under the hood.
I've updated the post on the first page with all the wiring connection information, and added a picture of the bypassed old relay under the hood. Hawkrod's suggestion works great!
Still haven't installed the cruise control servo yet. I need to get back to work on the Mustang, so this may not happen for a while.
I'll update this thread when the servo is mounted and the cruise is fully functional.

Did we ever find a wiring diagram for this? I have a 78 bronco with cruise that I might be parting out and I want to make sure I get everything. If it doesn't sell I will put in it my 71.

thanks

I came close, thanks to a fellow Fordification member. In the end, I used three different schematics along with some good advice from Hawkrod.
It's not as dificult as it seems, just takes a understanding each circuit.
On a separate note. The OEM turn signal switch just broke the right lock cam, so I need to replace it. I remember telling myself, "while the column is out, spend the bucks and get a new OEM switch". This is what i get for not following my own advise. ;)

Aren't those switches about $120? I used to run a tilt column in my 71 but sold it later (the column, not the 71). The switch had broken on it too but the switch cost so much that I didn't mess with it.

Haven't looked yet. A new OEM switch will last for a long time, so I guess it's just a matter of brown-bagging lunch for a month or two to save up the money. good thing I really like PB & J. :)

we just put a 79 column in our 71. we are not doing the cruise now so i swapped the horn section. i was able to run the wires between the metal trim piece and the flange the bolt goes into. this hides a little more of the wires. mine is close but it does not pinch the wires. you have to slide it into the space as you put the trim collar in place, before the bolts go in. also found a potential solution to column trim. i also could not figure a way to make the 79 collar work. found some tilt collars from full size vans that i think could be made to work around 1982. ford p/n on collar- E2TA-3530- also EOTA-3530 they do not have the wide flange, just a staight circle. also noticed these vans have the same inside door handles as bumps up into the 90's. thanks for the info and pics of your install - helped us a lot.

Cool idea on the horn!
The van trim deal sounds pretty smart.
I think you are right on the door handles too. There was another thread where some of the guys had found the same thing.
Glad this helped. I have to thank a lot of guys here for the idea, and info.
If you haven't done the intermittent wiper switch setup, you really have to check that out. It's super easy, and works incredibly well.
