Hey Hotrod Ford.

You might try getting a "Marti report"
http://www.martiautoworks.com/

There is a good discussion about it here in this thread.

http://www.fordification.com/forum/view ... ilit=Marti

Once you get the report, there is some awesome information on this site that will help you figure out what you bought.
:fr:

Good luck!

I don't think the Explorer package came on the shortbeds...I never heard of one, anyway...Also, I believe part of the Explorer package was the aluminum bed rails on top...Mine are long gone, to accomodate a camper shell the p. o. put on, but the holes are still on top of the bed where the rails mounted...
This is the point...I'm....talking about everybody! I'm talking about form! I'm talking about content! I'm talking about interrelationships! I'm talking about God, the devil, hell, heaven!!!! Do you understand???? Finally!!!!

No, aluminum bed rails were not part of the explorer package. Hawkrod

I hate to correct you  but actually they were, but only on the F100 LWB trucks.

Also, the Explorer Special was available on the SWB trucks.

You are right, I guess I miss worded it, what I meant to say was they were not a standard part of the Explorer package. As your link notes, it only came on the long bed F100 Explorer ordered with the optional B package so it is not part of the "standard" Explorer package. I think that applies to very few Explorers comparatively! That's my story and I am sticking to it! LOL Hawkrod

Hmmm...I don't think there was a "standard" Explorer package. There were four packages available, Package A, B, C and D...each with a few more items than the previous. When you ordered your truck, you didn't order an Explorer and then also tack on Package C (for example), you simply ordered an F100 with Explorer Package C.

Didn't know the Explorer was available in the shortbed...Looks like mine was package "C"...it has the power steering and cruise-o-matic, but no factory a/c or tinted glass...
