i have the brackets. i am asking about the seats or the just the slide tracks so i can mount seats to them. everyone says just the mustang seats mounts up to these brackets but i don't think so. i believe mustang, torino, cougar and maybe even some lincoln seats and tracks from the so called 65-71 era will mount to these brackets. i'm pretty sure on what i am talking about here on this subject. i'm asking for as much help on what seats to use. thanks.FORDification wrote:Sounds to me like you're not quite sure on the terminology, so let's set the record straight. First of all, you have the basic seat frame, to which the tracks (sliders) bolt. Then the seat w/tracks will bolt to the mounting brackets, and the brackets will then mount to the floorpan.
The only mounting brackets that will work are brackets from a '67-'72 Ford F100-350, due to the unique shape of the truck's floorpans. You will either need to find them or fab them. After you get the brackets, mounting almost any bucket seat and tracks to them should be pretty easy.

Re: bucket brackets
It would be fairly easy to check the bolt spacing on the seats in question....and even if they weren't exactly the same, I don't think it's nothing that a drill couldn't easily remedy. ![Wink ;)](./images/smilies/icon_wink.gif)
FWIW....I used to have a '68 XL (Galaxie) fastback with factory low-back buckets and a center console/shifter. I really didn't like the low-back seats, mainly because they were so cushy that I was sitting to high (I'm 6'1"). And with the...um...'high-spirited' driving I was doing at the time, I wanted the safety of high-back buckets. I found that the early-'70s full-size Camaro high-back buckets literally bolted right up to the tracks, with no modifications. I had them reupholstered with matching material, and never told anyone where they came from.![Wink ;)](./images/smilies/icon_wink.gif)

Re: bucket brackets
I will keep this in mind. I know that they have several of these models at the p&p. Thanks Keith. ![Thumbs up ](./images/smilies/icon_thumright.gif)

Re: bucket brackets
here are some photos of the bolt holes for buckets seats. the end of the tape is sitting in the middle of the rubber plug for the second set of tracks bolt down on the passenger side. i took two pics. on of them is at a slight angle the other is dead on. its almost 13 inches from outside to the center of the second track bolt hole.

Re: bucket brackets
good news, i cleaned up the brackets that i have and noticed that there are markings on them. i don't know if they are factory made or po made but its a good find. i held up the brackets to the seats that i have and the markings match up perfect to where the seat mounts are. so, all i need to do is drill one hloe in each mount and cut off the mounts for the seats and i have buckets
. so much for needing mustang, falcon, galaxie and so on and so on.
