It looks like what's left could be used to cover the fuel tank. Maybe quiet down the sloshing a bit. 8)

FWIW, Years ago, I took jute backed carpet, and soaked the back with a watery starch solution, then hand stretched it to fit over the hump, and left it to dry. It was a lot of work to get it stretched out right, but turned out really nice. It was a nice piece of carpet that was in a dumpster, and I was a young broke mechanic.

Now I know how to cover up the patch I will have to make now that I have cut the rust out of my kick panel.
