Hey Fitzwell and RJewkes, thanks for replying!

try that with a Hyundai/kia/malibu/......
Yeah I hear you! And when a comparison is made between the level of enjoyment I'd receive from a Kia to #50, it gets even funnier.

That's interesting! I haven't done a close comparison between it and my old Bumpside alternator, but I should.

Welp, back to the main subject of this thread: I went ahead and ordered the PA Performance charge wire. I'll post detailed photos when it arrives!

Thanks very much for the excellent replies!

Hello Robroy, you said you ended up with a march #p561, but I see you show a Tuff Stuff .Is that the one you got from March? The alternator that I was looking at is Tuff Stuff #7078ndp.Are they the same?I appreciate the help.

I don't understand enough about electricity to evaluate the validity of their reply. What do ya'll think?

Thanks very much,
Robroy
I am an electrician and that does not make sense. a 200A fuse blows at 200A unless dual rated. A 200A resistive circuit, headlights radios and such has no surge an sudden discharge. Larger copper coils like Alternators that are not spinning and capacitors (condensers inside of dizzys are small ones) will require a fuze that is rated for surges. A 140 amp out put needs 140 amps of protection or the next higher fuse rating. Like 150.

Yes it is! As you know, P561 is a March part number, not a Tuff Stuff number. March gets their hands on the Tuff Stuff parts, does unknown things to them (which might be nothing at all), and puts their own sticker on the box right over the Tuff Stuff sticker.

Under the March sticker I can read the original Tuff Stuff sticker on my box, and it reads, "70[685]9-BM," where [685] could be any one of 6, 8, or 5. I wish I could read the part through the March sticker better but it's not easy to see. I tried to peel the March sticker off but it's bringing everything with it (and making it even more illegible).

I'm not sure! Considering that March may have put my P561 in a box other than the box they received it from Tuff Stuff in, I can't say for sure whether or not the part number I'm reading matches this alternator.

To be certain, I think your best option is to call March at 1-888-729-9070 and see if they'll tell you the Tuff Stuff part number that their P561 is based upon. Hopefully they will! And while you're at it, you may be able to determine exactly what they do to update this alternator before reselling it, if anything.

Okay, thanks for posting with this information Dragon!

Okay, thanks Dragon! I'll look in to my setup again then to make sure it's in compliance with your advice. I appreciate you adding in your expert thoughts on this!
